I want to look at it in 2 ways:
- What are the impressions that your personal brand is living behind? What imprints on peoples’ minds are you leaving behind for them to seek you out or simply forget you?
What is this? Well from the pictures I’m guessing you can familiarise yourself with the game played with little children. From a scientific point of view it’s the understanding that objects continue to exist even when they cannot be seen, heard, or touched.

Peekaboo, the game, tests a child’s ability to know that objects continue to exist even though they can no longer visible or heard if removed by an adult or with their eyes covered. Will the child cry at the loss of the object and do nothing or will they go looking for it? This important game plays a huge role in cognitive development, developed by psychologist Piaget. He suggests that children as young as three-and-a-half months are able to understand that objects continue to exist even though they are unseen or unheard. If they have developed these skills children will actively go and search for the object they have seen previously.
But what does this all mean for you as a big adult who has mastered this skill. Well have no fear, you haven’t stubbled across a science blog, this is about personal development for your brand. I want to look at the principles of object permanence regarding your personal brand and your personal style
I want to look at it in 2 ways:
Ready?? Great, let’s go!
Firstly I want to look at your personal brand in a similar vein to an object infront of a child or in this case an adult.
Jeff Bezos from Amazon says it best;
Your brand is what people say about you when you are not in the room

Now imagine you cover the eyes of someone that just met you or your boss perhaps or it could be a new business contact. If they had to recount your personal brand after your first meeting, would they get it right? Would they know why they would want to come and find you? Have you left a lasting impression? Is it your infectious smile, your courteous manner, your signature haircut
Secondly, are you being true to you?
So take a moment today and have a ponder on your personal brand permanence. It will do you and your future nedeavours if you make the most to identify who you are, what you have to offer and why someone should remember you!
Adios ladies,
Samantha x
